Hi everyone,
On May 27th I am running the London 10,000 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
This will be a tough challenge for me as I am not designed for long distance running, so I am currently out pounding the pavements, trimming the spare tyre getting in shape for the event. Training is consisting of 4 running sessions a week, with a mixture of sprint and long distance training, and 1 weights session.
Back in 2007, my father was diagnosed with bowel cancer, and has made an incredible recovery since his diagnosis. One of the toughest things about living with cancer is getting the answers on something you're worrying about. Having someone to talk to about it, and getting the care my father needed was extremely critical and beyond the words of helpful. This is what Macmillan is all about. They aim to change the lives of people affected by cancer by providing practical, financial and medical support and push for better cancer care. And this is exactly the reason why I am running for this charity.
I am hoping to raise a minimum of £300, but I aim to smash this and raise as much as I possibly can. Any donation you can make, big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Sean
