Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My names Sean McKeown I have Developmental Dyspraxia.

This is my 3rd Birmingham Half Marathon.

This year I am running it for a charity called Conductive Education. (AKA NICE.)

They are a charity that work with additional needs adults and children who have Incurable movement/motor skill disorders.

I went there as a child from the ages of 5-11 to take part in their life changing co-ordinated movement therapy.

NICE as they are now known teach children with these movement disorders special stretching exercises and skill exercises regarding balance and core strength.

The therapy had astounding results on not just my motor skills but my overall behaviour as a whole .

I was very frustrated at certain aspects my Dyspraxia caused me in terms of my movement. However when I took part in the movement therapy they offered me these movement problems slowly ceased to exist I got stronger and stronger in terms of my core strength and balance .

I'm now running for the charity having come back to represent them 10 years later! Bring it on!

About the charity

NICE is a leading UK charity transforming the lives of disabled children and adults who have movement disorders such as cerebral palsy and Parkinson’s. We push the boundaries of their potential by teaching them through conductive education, new ways of controlling the effect of their condition.
