Talk the Walk is a 10-mile charity walk starting and finishing at Esher Rugby Club. Put your best foot forward and join other men to walk shoulder to shoulder and help raise funds for the Hospice.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Grief will touch everyone, it’s circle of life shit, but it really will effect everyone. And dealing with it is fucking tough.

It took me about a year of my partner Freya, suggesting that I should speak to someone before I actually did. It’s not really the “man thing” to do. I had bottled up enough over that year that at some point the bubble was going to burst. And I’m so glad that I did. I see Claire, my Councilor every other Thursday and we just chat through things going on in life. And you have no idea how much it has helped. I sleep with a clear head, when before it was having a million thoughts rattling around. It wasn’t healthy.

You don’t get over grief, you just learn to cope with it.

So, back to the walk. I didn’t realise that the Princess Alice Hospice can provide Councillors’ for those who need it until seeing the info about this walk. And I really want to help them provide that support for lots and lots more people.

The walk really is irrelevant… it’s walking in a 10 mile circle from Esher Rugby Club, back there in order to watch a rugby match!

Oh, and it involves 3 of Andy’s favourite things to do…

Have a burger

Watch a game of rugby

And have a beer!

Sounds tough doesn’t it!

But so is plucking up the courage to speak to someone.

So, if you can spare a couple of pennies to this wonderful cause then great, here is the donation on this page!

If you fancy coming along, here’s the link with all the details!

Cheers
