Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page!

On behalf of St John's Academy, Perth and Kinross, I travelled to Ethiopia between 26 June and 6 July 2014 with SCIAF leaders and 5 Scottish teachers.  We explored the crucial development work which SCIAF supports through its Ethiopian partners, including visiting farmers, local religious leaders, and those living with HIV, including children orphaned by the disease.  As a result of this experience, we will be preparing resources to be used in Scottish primary and secondary schools to improve our children's understanding of the challenge of poverty in our world.

The page remains open for donations.  Money goes straight to SCIAF (not via me), and SCIAF have agreed that all money raised on this page will be used to help the people of Ethiopia.

Thanks to people's generosity, the target I set has already been exceeded.  However, the need is great and any additional donations would further help these amazing people who have so much less than us, helping them to access water, go to school, develop their land, and improve their life chances.  Please give what you can afford - every £1 will make a difference to the lives of people who live on under $1 a day.  I really appreciate your support and thank you so much for your generosity in giving a little or a lot.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity
