Thank you all for your incredibly generous support for Saturday night’s SLEEP OUT in Woking town centre, raising funds for the York Road Project...
It was a long cold night, not made any easier at pub and club closing time. Very thought provoking & it brought home to me how invisible & vulnerable you become once you lay down on the streets to try to sleep. More reflections to follow, but rest assured your money has gone to a great organisation

Imagine having to sleep rough for just one night...
This Saturday, September 29th, I'm going to spend the night sleeping out on cardboard in Woking city centre, to raise awareness and funds for the YRP homelessness charity based in the town where I grew up. The 2018 Sleep Out is organised in collaboration with Woking Borough Council, and provides a window on the world of rough sleepers.
The YORK ROAD PROJECT does invaluable work in Woking, Surrey and the surrounding areas, dealing with the many challenges facing homeless individuals every day. From their Outreach program, designed to help people from the moment problems start, right through to the ultimate aim of helping to find secure permanent, independent accommodation, the YRP team offer a unique and holistic approach, with an impressive level of service.
The YRP relies largely on donations & they deserve our support!
