Aberdeen Kiltwalk 2023 · 4 June 2023 ·

Searchlight Scotland is an Aberdeen based charity which supports survivors of human trafficking and exploitation. We also have a residential programme, including a safe house, for women who have been trafficked, fleeing abuse, or who have life controlling issues.

Story

Searchlight Scotland is a charity that was founded in 2018 here in Aberdeen Scotland, with an aim to see, help and put a stop to trauma, and help people live the life that they deserve. They have a residential program that aims to empower women that are held back by life-controlling issues, like self-harm, anxiety, and depression. Their program includes personal and social development, health, and well-being. They also have a ‘move-in’ option for women, who are survivors of exploitation, they had a safe house that the women could stay at until they found a safer place to live. Sadly they had to sell the safe house because they didn’t have anyone staying in it, meaning they don’t have a place for anyone that comes to stay in. To help raise money for the charity we are participating in the Aberdeen kilt walk on June 4th. We have set up a just-giving profile to raise money, we would appreciate if you could donate money to sponsor us for the kilt walk.
