Relying heavily on volunteers and donations to help people in need, Thanet Food Link operates as a food bank using a voucher system taking referrals from agencies who work directly with those in need (children’s services, schools, associations supporting disabled people; community centres and NHS health trainers). Each food voucher issued by Thanet Food Link provides a minimum emergency 3-day supply of food to the recipient and their household.

With a huge rise in demand for food parcels during the Covid-19 pandemic, Thanet Food Link are in desperate need of donations and volunteers during this difficult time to enable on-going support of those in need. They are now giving out the same amount of food parcels in one week as they would normally give out in one month.
