Story
Well not many people would have guessed this would be my next harebrained scheme, but yes on Sunday 23rd April 2017 I will be running the Virgin London Marathon.
In my lifetime I have gone from a High School dropout going from job to job to finally achieving my dream of becoming an Airline Pilot.
As many of you have seen on Worst Place To Be A Pilot on TV, I had some of the best years of my life working for Susi Air in Indonesia and travelling the world.
Nowadays I am back in Europe working for the airline Norwegian. I have been so lucky and fortunate in my life that I decided I wanted to give something back to the world. Something that would challenge me and for a cause worthwhile.
Not many people know this but actually I have been applying for the London Marathon without success for some years.
This year I approached UNICEF and they have selected me to join their team. Why UNICEF do you ask?
One of the first aircraft I flew for Norwegian was in a UNICEF livery (pictured in Prague below).
UNICEF has worked with Norwegian for many years but since I have worked for the airline, they have ran several campaigns to collect aid & supplies to be sent in specially chartered Norwegian aircraft to places such as Nepal and the Syrian Refugee Camps in Jordan.
Many people will not believe I will do it let alone go the whole distance and finish but over the coming months I will be training so when the day arrives, I will be at the best I can be.
