Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Macmillan Cancer Support is a cause that is very close to my heart. This steams from my brother and sister-in-law both have had cancer and my Aunt died at the age of 40 0f breast cancer and my grandfather had bowel cancer. My Granddad died of cancerous brain tumours and a good friend and former colleague has just been diagnosed with blood cancer. With quite a few other friends locally having or dying from cancer it brings it home that it touches us all in many ways none of them good.

On 26th February I went to St Davids in south wales to pick up my new RIB made by Quinquari Marine. They build boats in St Davids and in North Ballachulish. Both Seaxplorer boats are made by Quinquari Marine.

The morning I arrived John, the founder and owner of the company died of cancer at 49 after a long battle. Very sad and he will be sadly missed in the community and the industry. The company is in the good hands of his son Rhys and has a bright future.

Raising money for Macmillan  is a worthy cause amongst so many. 42% of us will get cancer of some sort and personally seeing the suffering and pain it brings the relief and support that Macmillan nurses provide is a comfort to cancer victims and families alike.

This is why SeaXplorer is raising money for Macmillan cancer Support.
