Our vision is a world where people with Tourette Syndrome (TS) get the practical support and social acceptance they need to live their lives to the full. We aid their inclusion in education, work, and society throughout their lives, and support research and aim to raise awareness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My girlfriend, Tara, was officially diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome a couple of years ago so it is a cause very close to my heart.

I would love to spread awareness of the condition to as many as people as possible as it is still such a misunderstood condition, with most people’s perceptions of it being entirely wrong.

Tourette’s is a debilitating condition of attrition and not just a quirky
movement and ‘sweary’ disorder. Even amongst the medical community this needs to be addressed- one of my girlfriend's doctors dismissed her tics as a quirky artistic trait which obviously is not good enough.

It’s so important to keep raising the awareness of the true condition
especially in wake of media attention such as Scarlett Moffatt’s recent documentary which, whilst clearly well intentioned, didn't really hit the nail on the head as much as it could have and was a bit of a wasted opportunity.

The long and the short of it is that this is a cause that is very close to me and the more money that can go towards helping people the better, especially when respite can be so hard to come by.

Any spare donations you have to spare would be much appreciated and will go to an amazing cause.
