Story

Cancer affects many people's daily lives and can be incredibly difficult to deal with. For some, there is no one to turn to for help or support. That's how I felt at 16 when a close friend Jake sadly passed away. I didn't want to open up and wasn't really sure how to. Having suppressed these feelings for many years, they re-emerged after finding out some news that cancer was affecting someone very close to home. This highlighted to me the importance of seeking help and speaking up. Charities such as Macmillan are so important for people who, like me, feel there is no one to turn to. I am going to be running the Brighton half marathon in support of their amazing work. Any donation is hugely appreciated and will be put towards ensuring many people receive the help and support that they need.
