CRADLE Charity provide national support to women, partners and their extended family who are affected by baby loss when pregnancy doesn't go to plan. We work with healthcare professionals to support bereavement care during hospital appointments or stays.

Story

Hello all,

On Saturday 18th June we will be taking part in the 205 mile Chase the Sun South bike ride. Starting at 4.40am in the east end of Kent and finishing hopefully circa 10pm near Weston-super-Mare. Essentially riding from sunrise to sunset. Also, for some unknown reason, the organisers have chosen for it to go through the Mendip Hills and Cheddar Gorge, totaling 3000m of elevation to navigate - so that'll be fun.

We are raising money for Cradle who provide invaluable help for those affected by early pregnancy loss. Robbie and Sammi cannot thank them enough for their support last year and we would be honoured to raise some money for such a good cause. Furthermore, we have both recently had friends and colleagues who have also been through the same tragic circumstances and we will be thinking of them as we try and get through the day!

Neither Robbie or I are cyclists and never have been. We are however both somewhat competitive when it comes to not backing down when the other says they'll do something. So, here we are.

We've left it incredibly late to create this page which is not just a function of us leaving things to the very last minute (it's about 75% that) - but also, we are pretty terrified about the day and didn't want to raise money and then back out. But after a few months of some rather grueling training we are as ready as we are ever going to be. So with that said, anything that you can spare would be so gratefully appreciated!

Thanks all!
