I'm running the London Landmarks Half Marathon, with my friend Jacob.

We have been friends since primary school, and are running the Marathon together on behalf of two local Hospice at Home charities. My mum, Helen Makaritis, is the CEO of Kate’s Home Nursing and was previously CEO of Campden Home Nursing, where Jacob’s mum, Anita Dee, runs the Play Therapy Service. Both charities exist to provide nursing care to patients at the end of life, allowing them to stay at home, rather than at hospital or in a hospice . Play Therapy is provided by Campden Home Nursing to work with children aged 5-11 who have experienced grief after the loss of a loved one.

We thought it would be a great idea to run together to support the charities our mums work for and raise funds for the nurses that do such a brilliant job.
