The National Three Peaks Challenge · 8 August 2015

Theatre for a Change works to empower the most vulnerable and marginalised women and girls in Malawi, Ghana and worldwide to find their voice and assert their rights. We use a unique combination of drama and participatory learning, with a particular focus on sexual and reproductive health.

Story

Three Countries. Three Peaks. 27 Miles. 24 Hours

In early August three friends and I will be attempting to complete the National Three Peaks Challenge, which involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon - the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales - in under 24 hours.

Until this point, my most impressive athletic achievement has been forming one-quarter of the team which won my school's Under-10s 4x400m relay (see photographic evidence). I retired from the sport soon after. So it's fair to say I'm a little apprehensive.

Doing this for a great cause is keeping me motivated. I'm supporting Theatre for a Change, which works with some of the most vulnerable and marginalised groups in Africa. The charity exists for the empowerment of women and girls and works specifically with groups at risk of poor sexual and reproductive health and those who have limited opportunities to assert their gender rights.

If you'd like to support this fantastic cause, please do consider sponsoring me. Thank you!
