Charity cycle 2020 Land’s End to John O’Groats · 12 July 2020

We‘re the world‘s leading cancer charity dedicated to saving and improving lives through research. We fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of more than 200 types of cancer through the work of over 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.

Story

We want to raise money for Cancer Research as this terrible disease has touched both of our lives personally and professionally. The challenge that we both want to complete will test us physically, mentally and emotionally as cancer is something, as we all know, that isn’t just a physical fight and thus it is fitting that our journey reflects this.

We intend to cycle approximately 100 miles per day from Land’s End to John O’Groats in July and August this year. The route is approximately 1000 miles which we hope to cover in 10 days.

Our mothers and the St. Edward’s College community inspired us to undertake this challenge. Sadly, Gill’s mum died five years ago from bone cancer after a hard three year battle. Ginny’s mum won her battles with breast cancer. Many of the St. Edward’s family have been touched by cancer and we believe this to be a fitting way to remember their courage and support the work of those helping to combat the disease.

We want to make a positive difference and help Cancer Research by raising at least £10,000 with your help.

As well as donating, if you would like to email the name of the person you are remembering (whether they won, or lost, their battle with this devastating disease) to the address below we will place their name on our t-shirts and so they will be cycling with us every day!
