Story
Our Summer Challenge
We are all really pushing ourselves but it's for a great cause. Two of
our kids have had long term medical conditions recently, and it was
fantastic for the parents to be able to stay right next door in Ronald
McDonald House Manchester. Having a bit of time and relaxation away from the ward made a massive difference and enabled the mums to recharge and be strong for their kids.
Each Junior Church family is setting their own challenge this summer;
- Joe and Pam are walking a marathon together each week
- Heidi is walking 14 miles - the distance to both sets of her grandparents
- Megan and Maisie are litterpicking for 20km
- Daniel, Peter and Andrew are jogging a marathon (over several days)
- One family are pushing their cycling limits and walking to three local towers
- Matt and Fi are cycling 35km in a day to visit all the junior church families (in a socially distant way)
- Fi is also doing a 10km run
- Sarah, Benjamin, George and Charlie are doing the Three Tower walk - Holcombe Hill, Rivington Pike and Darwen Tower
- Ali and Louise are doing 62 laps of the Lido - one for each of the nights Ali spent in Ronald McDonald House Manchester
- The Cook family are walking/cycling/scooting around their garden for 20 miles - the distance to Ronald McDonald House
- Matthew is cycling up Ramsbottom Rake 15 times - one for each Junior Church family
