I sadly lost my beloved horse Ellie suddenly and tragically to colic in January, and that was the time that I lost a true friend. She taught me how graceful, noble, and loving the untroubled Thoroughbred mind can be, and gave me so much in the fifteen years I had the pleasure of knowing her.

On that final day, it was too risky to let her lie down, as she had too little strength to get up again so she walked by my side all day. She gave me all that she had, but in the end she was exhausted and the problem hadn't gone away, so I had to say goodbye to my special girl! It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I want to walk once again for her, as she did for me! I am aiming to complete the full challenge in 24-28 hours, which is no mean feat!

I would like to give her cousins from the Racehorse Sanctuary the chance of a retirement in comfort, or a good second life after racing, as a thank you to them for running their big hearts out for their owners and the public, and giving so much pleasure to so many!
