On the 3rd of September, I am challenging myself and 10 of my colleagues at Charlton Brown Architecture & Interiors to walk 25km (15 miles) along the South Coast from Eastbourne and over Seven Sisters to raise funds for Sarcoma UK - the rare cancer charity of bone and soft tissue.
Most people have never heard of Sarcomas. This bone and soft tissue cancer are considered the “forgotten and loneliest” cancer because it equates to 1% of all cancers and is challenging to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat.
Sarcomas are rare cancers that can develop undetected in any part of the body, on the inside or outside. 15 people are diagnosed every day in the UK, with many between 18-35 years old. It’s so uncommon that a GP might only see one person with a Sarcoma in their whole career, leading to delayed diagnosis and treatment for the patient. It only strengthens the fact more attention toward research and treatment avenues is paramount for our bone and soft tissue patients in finding a cure, where many are currently living with incurable diseases.
Thank you for supporting me to help change the landscape for everyone affected by sarcoma and raise awareness for this rare disease. Your donation will help transform the lives of everyone affected by sarcoma through funding ground-breaking research, improving treatment, and providing personal support and information for anyone who needs it.
