SELWOOD 75 years – anniversary fundraising
challenge. 75 years is a significant milestone, and Team Selwood aim to celebrate throughout the year with a variety of different activities and challenges to raise £75,000 for a number of fantastic charities.
Many of us at Selwood Pump Rental Solutions are keen motorcycle enthusiasts and although we hope to never need support from the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, it's reassuring for us and all road users to know there is this amazing level of support available if we should ever need it.
Our contribution will be to organising and taking part in a motorcycle ride out with friends and colleagues in aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is a registered charity, established to provide relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset, by the provision of an air ambulance service, with an air and road-delivered critical care capability. They receive no direct funding from the Government or the National Lottery and rely on the generosity of the public for support. Their operational costs are over £5 million a year and the approximate cost pre mission is £3,000.
Starting just north of Yeovil. The route will take in some of the most enjoyable parts of Somerset and Dorset including RNAS Yeovilton, Dorset Air Ambulance Helicopter Site at Henstridge Airfield, Compton
Abbas Airfield, Bovington Tank Museum, and finishing at Frontline Coffee Shop on Portland, close to nearby Portland Castle, Portland Marina and the Portland D Day Museum.
