UPDATE JUNE 2015
A MESSAGE FROM ABDULLAH, 2014
'I have just returned after visiting Senegal with my son to see the progress on both projects.
We are making good progress... The roof is finished but we are unable to finish the plastering, floor cement and tiling until we are able to get more funds. This is not too big a job but cement is very expensive and this needs to be finished before the rainy season starts in the next few months.
With regards to the water we have to negotiate with the government to enable the pipe from the village to feed close to the mosque.
I would like to say how much we appreciate all the support and [well] wishes we have had from the community within Woking and the continued interest in the projects that I am running in Senegal without your continued support this would not be feasible.
We would like to thank [every body] for all of their support. The community in Sengal are holding special prayers to give thanks.'

Manoimbe Cisse Mosque
The area of Pikine has ancestral links with the Tijani scholars through Hajji Abdul Malik. Over the years the current mosque has become too small. Abdullah wanted to continue the work of his elders, including his late father, and started a project to expand the mosque and to include space for a madrasa (Islamic school).
Tambacounda water supply
Abdullah’s mother lives in a village seven hours drive form Pikine. This is a dry, arid place and clean water is hard to come by. Abdullah has already helped rebuild the local mosque and now intends to work with the local goverment to pipe clean water to the village.
