Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
A group of us from our running club in Cockermouth, Cumbria are planning to run The Dalton Way, a 43K route that runs from Seascale on the coast to the market town of Cockermouth inland. This year is the 250th anniversary of the birth of the famous local scientist John Dalton and the route was devised to commemorate this.
We are all passionate about the huge benefits that exercise outdoors confers on its participants in terms of wellbeing, health and self esteem and chose to raise money for a charity which has the mental and emotional wellbeing of our young people as its core mission.
We hope you may be motivated by our mini adventure to try making one of your own and to get out into nature wherever you are. We also hope that you will be made more aware of the huge challenges our youngsters face in today's world and the valuable contribution that exercise and activity can play in building their resilience and self esteem.
Andy.
