Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) was voted as Edinburgh Airport’s 2020 Charity of the Year. When we announced them as our winners nobody could have predicted our current situation. I am part of the charity committee and last year we raised £146,000 for The Yard but unfortunately we won’t manage that again this year because of coronavirus. That doesn’t mean EAL staff aren’t just as committed to doing their bit.

This year I was signed up to EMF 10km and my first ever half marathon in September, running to raise money for SAMH. These are now unlikely to go ahead. I’d like to still do my bit for SAMH and raise some well needed funds for them. Mental health is already a topic close to my heart but it’s more important than ever right now to look after ourselves and SAMH provide all sorts of support.
