Velindre Cancer Services provides treatment, care and support to patients and their families. Money raised by our fundraisers allows us to support projects over and above those provided by the NHS including ground breaking research, specialist equipment, nurses and staff training.

Story

Thanks for visiting my justgiving page!

For Tim.

After months of being told that he had an allergy, my husband Tim, was diagnosed with a Thymic Seminoma - a germ cell cancer that had formed in his chest. Not only was it a rarity that the cancer had formed in such a place, but at 32, it was also rate to affect someone so young.

Although this was earth shattering news to our family, the strength, bravery and courage that he has shown throughout his treatment has been incredible, and the support and care given to him at Velindre has been, quite simply, amazing.

As Tim comes to the end of his battle, we know that for so many others, it’s a longer and more gruelling  process.  Hospitals  of hope, like  Velindre cancer centre,  need all the support they can get to further advance their research and treatments.

Throughout the month of December, and in support of the incredible work that Velindre do, my brother Alex and I will be pedalling our way through 500 miles each (and none of these will be to the pub!)

Cheers lil bro for joining me on this challenge!

For Tim; for everyone fighting; for everyone who has fought;  for life; for the future of kicking the monster that is cancer. .
