East Anglian Air Ambulance receives no regular government funding and relies entirely on the support of the community. The crews are tasked an average of 8 times a day across the two bases, with each mission costing in the region of £3,500. They can reach anywhere in the region within 25 minutes when every second can make the difference to a patient in their time of need.
I’m sure most people know of our story but for those who don’t. Our little gorgeous Thomas was taken from us in September 2015 after a choking incident. The EAAA attended and were able to revive Thomas and ventilate him. After being transferred to Addenbrookes Hospital he died 3 days later.
Because of the EAAA we had 3 extra days with our precious boy and as a family got to say our final goodbyes. This will always remain with me and I will always be forever grateful.
We run OTB as a team, we start together and finish together.
This will be my 4th time and by no means is it easy but it is so much fun and a real sense of achievement is felt by all at the end. I feel very proud to have each of my medals.
