Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In September, Daisy, Jemima, Serena are running the 5km colour Run to raise money for the Langalanga scholarship fund which is an amazing charity helping less fortunate but talented Kenyan girls receive a secondary education in order to go to university and achieve their dreams which they otherwise could not afford to do.

In 2010 Serena's friend Eleanor died tragically in a freak accident on a beach in Cornwall at the age of just 11. Eleanor was such a talented person, kind, bright and sporty who always had a smile on her face. She believed strongly in girls education and believed every girl should get a chance to achieve their dreams. This is why we are raising money for Langalanga - it was what she would have wanted and her family are also very involved in the charity.

Thank you very much for your support in helping us raise money to remember  Eleanor who's life was so cruelly cut short - we are really grateful.

About the charity

The Langalanga Scholarship Fund supports the education of bright but very needy young people from the impoverished area of the Rift Valley around the town of Gilgil in Kenya. It provides the hope that poverty can be alleviated through education and the greatly increased chance of finding good employment.
