Serena Janssens Memorial Fund

Minh-Tam Janssens is raising money for PAWA - Pan Asian Women’s Association
In memory of Serena Janssens
PAWA is a UK-registered charity and is professionally managed by a dedicated group of volunteers. PAWA raises funds and supports small grassroots charitable projects that empower women through education. Educating teenage girls is the most effective way to fight poverty. Schooling is a precondition for girls and women to stand-up against injustice and for women to be integrated into society and the economy. Gender-equality is not only a moral and human rights issue but the key to sustainable Socio-economic development. Exclusion of women from economic life inevitably affects the prosperity of society as a whole.

Story

To remember Serena, our family has created the Serena Janssens Memorial Fund to help educate teenage girls through multiple projects across Asia. By supporting these projects, we will continue to honour her memory through our actions.

9th October 2025 will mark the 5th anniversary of Serena's passing. A group of her friends and family will trek the Annapurna region to remember her. Serena's last trip before she was ill was to trek to base camp of Annapurna with her school friends.
