Story
I’m taking on a half marathon this October to raise money for Sense, a charity that supports disabled people with complex needs.
I love my work as a music therapist, and I see every day how important it is that people with complex disabilities are given meaningful opportunities to communicate, connect, participate and enjoy life on their own terms. That’s why I support Sense’s aim to give everyone access to interesting and exciting experiences where they can learn new things, have fun and meet other people.
Sense works alongside disabled people with complex needs and their families, providing specialist, personalised and creative support throughout life. They offer beautiful opportunities for disabled people and their families to access enriching arts, music and sports workshops as well as organising special days out and short breaks for caregivers.
On 11 October (and it will be tough having done a couple of Marriage of Figaros the day before!) I’ll be attempting to run 13.1 miles in Oxford to help support that work. If you’re able to sponsor me, however much, I’d be very grateful. Every contribution will help Sense continue to break down barriers and create opportunities for people with disabilities and their loved ones to live fuller, richer and more connected lives.
Thank you very much! XXX
