Student Challenges Kilimanjaro 2020 · 20 August 2020 to 5 September 2020 ·
I have decided to raise £2400 for the charity Meningitis Research Foundation.
Meningitis Research Foundation's work is providing better access to vaccines, health systems that can diagnose and treat children, and support to survivors of meningitis. It's time to make meningitis a global health priority.
I have chosen to fundraise for this charity because Students are one of the most at-risk groups of contracting these deadly diseases. I will be conducting electrifying activities on Warwick University campus and other schools in order to raise awareness about the disease and to increase the usage of the MenACWY vaccine.
Shockingly, meningitis and neonatal sepsis are the second biggest infectious killer of children under the age of five on the planet, affecting more than 2.8 million people every year! They can kill you within 12 hours and are responsible for more deaths of children under 5 than malaria, measles, tetanus and AIDS combined.
In September 2020 I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the world’s tallest freestanding mountain. My climb is in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation; MRF want a world free from meningitis and septicaemia – they fund life-saving research and provide support for those who have been affected.
I would love for you to donate, but if you're a broke student like myself I completely understand x . However, I would urge you to share my page or tell your friends about the importance of getting their MenACWY vaccine. It could be the difference between losing or keeping a loved one.
