Thank you for taking the time to visit my page.
Having travelled to Antarctica and successfully climbed Vinson Massif (4,892m) in January 09 , the time is now approaching for the BIG ONE – Mount Everest (8,848 m) in April 2019. I wanted to do something to mark (what I hope) will be a huge personal achievement in completing the World’s Seven Summits (the highest mountain peaks of each of the seven continents). For those of you who know me, completing the Seven Summits has been a lifetime dream, which is now nearing its final stages.
To date, I have successfully summitted Denali, (North America 6,194m), Aconcagua, (South America 6,961m), Kilimanjaro (Africa 5,895m), Elbrus (Europe 5,642 m), Kosciuszko (Australia 2,228m) and Vinson (Antarctica 4,892m). This story started many years ago, when I decided to leave the corporate world to turn my passion for adventure and mountaineering into my career, allowing me to travel to some of the most beautiful and remote corners of the World. However, many of these areas are sadly being destroyed at an alarming rate - as a
mountaineer I see this first hand, and even in the last 20 years, when I return to certain areas, the change has been devastating and visible. The changes are accelerating and unless we act now, future generations will not be able to enjoy what we have today; furthermore, I fear that they will look upon us as the generation that knowingly destroyed the planet.
I am trying to actively do something about it, by dedicating my 'Seven
Summit' climbs to protecting and managing vulnerable ecosystems around the world, through fundraising for the World Land Trust. Every penny raised will go to buying and protecting rainforest – where £100 will purchase an acre of forest in Belize - that’s the size of a football field. My target is to fund 150 acres of rainforest - rainforests are the life-support of our planet and among the many benefits of saving them, they regulate our climate and protect our most endangered wildlife.
Please join me in my fundraising efforts by donating generously. This is a legacy we can all be a part of and it will make every step I climb worthwhile.
Wishing you all an amazing 2019!
