Help us build a kitchen with 3-months food supplies so these 122 orphan and needy children and enjoy a fortifying meal to help them stay fit and healthy during their studies in Afghanistan.

Their parents and teachers gave everything to provide them this opportunity for education, and the children valued this by giving up every luxury to focus on their studies. The uncomfortable living conditions, the distance from their parents with little to no mode of communication, and the hard stone ground they sat upon for hours wrenched my heart.

These hard-working children that were studying all day with such discomfort did not have any facilities to eat. The school is maintained entirely by donations and the sacrifices of staff who put their own money in, and thus did not have the funds for facilities like a kitchen, or food to cook. 

In the early hours of each day, a group of five students were nominated to carry large bags and walk long distances through the empty lands that surround the school till they reached the nearest settlements. They would then knock on the doors of already impoverished homes, begging for any left-over bones, soups and scraps that these struggling families could spare. They would return hours later when the bags were filled. The children would rejoice around these bags that resembled the over-flowing bins in our homes, as they emptied these bags to share between all of them, hoping to get through the day with this. 

Subhaanallah! How will we answer Allah SWT? How will we hope for a brighter future when these innocent children are living like this for the sake of their studies?”
