Story

Hi everyone,

Simon, Gregg, Suzie and myself (Ashley) are doing the Classic Tough Mudder event in Scotland this June. It's 8-10 miles long with 25 obstacles thrown in for good measure.

We've all been training exceptionally hard for this event. I've been working with a personal trainer to improve my strength, running long distances and—hardest of all—stuck to a calorie deficit to drop a few kilos and make those monkey bars a little easier. Everyone else has been hard at work, too. I'll let them tell you in their own words.

Suzie here.

I've always thought tough mudder would be impossible to do but this year turning 29 I've decided to challenge myself to do something I thought I never would!

People who know me would think I'm bonkers, especially knowing that in my past I hated any kind of sports. My physical exercise was walking up to McDonald's every day for lunch.

Can tough mudder be that bad? We shall see! The point is we are all doing this in a team and no matter rain or shine, whether we fall or fly past it we are doing it all together for a good cause and that's what's going to make it worth the while :) Waiting for the beers and pizzas at the finish line :)

Please support us with whatever you can and I promise to share food :)

Hello I’m Simon!

As Ashley mentioned, we’re training for tough mudder this year and yes, we’re super excited! Excited but also nervous! Sure tough mudder seems fun but with that fun come challenge and probably (certainly in my case) a mile stone goal.

From an early age I developed an unhealthy mindset toward food and exercise and along with that came body issues and confidence. I never wanted to play sport! I never felt good enough and I would compare myself to all the other boys in my year of school, which just so happened to be a school focused on sport.

With the goal of completing tough mudder I set a challenge I had never before undertaken and in doing so I’ve had to address many of the unhealthy views on towards food and fitness.

Never before have I felt in a place to help others but now I am and as part of this team we can do more than just one person alone!

Im also pro leggings! (male leggings) I mean, check those bad boys! SO SHINEY

Hey, Gregg here now.

I never planned on doing tough mudder, in fact I've tried to dodge it over the years, but this group managed to rope me in. The horror stories everyone keeps telling us isn't making me excited for it but hopefully over time I will be able to look back on a good day and have raised some money for a good cause at the same time.

We're looking forward to it, but are also nervous of what's ahead. I've heard the ice bath obstacle is the worst!

We'd love to raise a little money for charity in the process. We've chosen Cancer Research UK because most of us have been touched by this in some capacity, whether we've had family members battle cancer or have friends who have lost loved ones to the disease.

Please get behind us and this amazing charity and donate whatever you can.
