Sistema England is a charity, founded by Julian Lloyd Webber, that helps to transform the lives of children, young people and their communities through the power of music making, as part of the international El Sistema movement.

Story

Sistema England's 'Music Passports' campaign is our call to all the people who believe in the vital importance of the arts and of removing barriers for young people to connect with one another and to achieve.

The Sistema Europe Youth Orchestra (SEYO) 2018  will bring together 200 young musicians aged 10 to 21 and 50 teachers from Sistema and ‘social action through music’ programmes in 15 countries, to learn together at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and to perform at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall and Birmingham's Symphony Hall.

We have now raised 98% of the funds the residency, through great kindnesses, generous grants and donations and in-kind support.

We need the final £4,000 for:

Concert Dress (SEYO18 T-Shirts) for all young musicians - £3,000

Refillable water bottles to reduce plastic waste - £500

Specialist instrument hire - £500 (approx. £10,000 lent free of charge)

SEYO 2018 celebrates the power of music to unite nations, cultures and young people during challenging times for the UK and Europe.    Countries represented this year include: Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, England, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Spain and Turkey.   SEYO is an annual event organised by Sistema Europe and hosted by a different country each year.

We very much hope you can help us make this possible!
