STAFFORD HALF MARATHON · 20 March 2022

We aim to enable patients with life limiting conditions to live life as fully as possible and make the most of the time they have, as well as supporting their loved ones. It costs almost £4m a year to provide vital free care services and we rely heavily on the support from our community.

Story

The project is to encourage as many professionals in Education in Stafford to take part in the Stafford Half Marathon. It's amazing that lots of teachers, teaching assistants and support staff are uniting as one and showcase the importance of togetherness and that we are all capable of more than we think.

After lockdown I thought it was important for teachers to celebrate the hard work and dedication shown through such a turbulent time. As a district I wanted Stafford to unite and show its strength on the other side of the pandemic through community fundraising.

Katherine House Hospice is our chosen charity. They reached a critical point through the pandemic where fundraising and events were cancelled and I knew I had to do something. I also know that the hospice is such a pivotal place for the people of Stafford and just how many people they take care of.
