Story

Sgt Micky Chadwick, The Chadmeister General or however else he was known to you was a legend.  One of the nicest and most genuine people that you could meet, Chad quickly made a massive impact on the lives of those he served with.  Chad unfortunately passed away of natural causes in January this year after returning from his second tour of Afghanistan.  Although unfortunately only known to us for a short period of time, it is fair to say that he will forever be remembered.

In memory of Chad, four of his friends from here in Afghanistan have taken it upon themselves to complete a 500km challenge.  Team members will rotate around four pieces of gym equipment, a Concept II rower, treadmill, exercise bike and a X-trainer.  Competitors will complete an hour on each piece of equipment before moving on to the next piece of equipment.  Distances will be recorded every hour and will continue until a total distance of 500km is reached.  On current training averages this should mean around 8-9 hours of continuous exercise for each team member.

At the request of Chads family, all money raised for this event will be donated to Help for Heroes.

As Chad would have said, “We’re gonna smash this one up”.
