Sha Runs London Marathon for Mind

TCS Virtual London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving Page.
I have been selected to run the London Marathon by Buxton Water and share my inspirational story of mental resilience through their Rise Up platform in partnership with Mind and The Independent Newspaper.
I experienced poor mental health for two years - I sufferred from stress, anxiety and depression between 2016-2018, during this period I didn't share my difficulties with anyone and internalised my problems, which exacerbated my struggles.
When I did finally open up about my experience, the dark clouds that were engulfing me started to drift apart, and I felt much better.
I thought at the time there must be other people struggling with their mental health, so I got together with a few running friends and formed Be More You. A running collective, set up to raise awareness and normalise the conversation about mental health. We do this by creating safe spaces for runners to come and be their authentic selves without fear of judgement and criticism. A place where you can come to listen, be heard or just be present to the moment and learn new skills to improve your mental wellbeing and outlook on life.
Running the London Marathon is giving me the opportunity to share my story of mental resilience, and I hope I can inspire other’s who are struggling with their mental health to seek the support they need.
I am raising funds for Mental Health Charity Mind, who are doing an amazing job in supporting local communities and organisations.
Thank you for reading my story and if you would like to donate you can do so below. Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
Big love!❤️
