Story

Thank you for arriving at our Fundraising page, please take a few minutes to read about our fundraising aims and purpose.

On Sunday 25th December, both me and Mohammed Umran (Redditch) will be hiking Ben Nevis to raise funds for two separate projects in Pakistan.

1) To help rebuild a collapsing wall near a cemetery, to ensure landslides do not occur and loved one's graves are not affected

2) To support those who were so deeply affected by the July-October floods in Pakistan this year, where thousands died and millions still remain unplaced and homeless. A dire situation indeed.

We will travel on 24th December and start our hike in the early hours of the 25th, during this time of year the weather at Ben Nevis is known to be pretty extreme at time, we are expecting snow and minus 11 - 15 temperatures at the summit, as summer hikers, this is the first time we are doing such a intense challenge. But the cause is something we are very passionate about and as such we are willing to push ourselves a step further to try and raise as much as we possibly can.

In reality, despite the freezing temperatures and potential danger to life on Ben Nevis at this time of year, what the Flood Victims of Pakistan have been through in recent months is much greater and much more challenging.

We are doing this fundraiser as part of a wider fundraising appeal for the two projects in partnership with Arch - Active Redditch Community Hub. All funds raised will be collated by Arch.

We plan to go to Pakistan along with few other friends (exact No. of people travelling and dates to be confirmed) , around mid-2023 to distribute items of food/clothing to the flood victims and where possible financial aid, at the same time we will also be ensuring that the authorities responsible for the grave yard receives the financial aid to ensure the wall is erected to stop any landslide or damage.

Both projects will be given a 50/50 split on the total amount of funds raised. Our total target to raise, In Shaa Allah, is £5,000.

Thank you in advance for your kind and generous support, it will make a great difference In Shaa Allah, Arch, myself and Umran are very grateful.

Whatever you are able to donate is much appreciated, we know it's tough times for everyone but we also know how generous our friends and network are and how much the people of Pakistan need our support.

Thank you
