Story
We are travelling to Bangladesh to actively participate in some of the humanitarian work that Muslim charity do in Bangladesh. Our focus will be on the Children of the world’s project- helping the children of Bangladesh.
This project is Zakat eligible- please mention zakat when donating.
Highlights of our trip:
Please have a read of our itinerary and donate generously (please note- no donations go towards our flight tickets and boarding):
Sylhet
Sylhet is home to thousands of people that live in slums. Often they are day labourers or people with very low incomes. Their children are either assimilated into helping the family earn money and therefore struggle to go to mainstream school.
Muslim Charity with our help will be starting a new school to support these children. It will give access to pre–primary education, helping them to a brighter future.
Lala Khal School
Here we will be distributing school bags to vulnerable children. These bags will be filled with stationary goods, enabling these children to not only have materials they can use for schooling, but in some cases the first ever gift they have received.
Cox’s Bazaar
Here we will be visiting the Rohingya camps. The Rohingya have fled the most extreme violence and torture and now totally rely on aid agencies to support them in their hour of need.
As part of our fundraising we will be supporting Muslim charity’s child friendly space on the Rohingya camps. This is an oasis for the young people who can come and for a short period of time be children again. Our volunteers and staff start the healing process through play, art and drama..
Bandarban
Bandarban is the highest landmass in Bangladesh. It has lush green forest and a plethora of wildlife and fauna. It’s hills come alive from the different tribes and communities. These are vulnerable communities that are in some cases away from development of the country.
We will be supporting the refurbishment of a school enabling the children to take advantage of this great opportunity.
We will be helping with painting, decorating and helping setup for the inauguration with the students
Dhaka
We will be spending time with the outreach workers on the ground shadowing them and learning more about detached work with street children. We will meet the children of the 4th biggest brothel and support them in our day care centre
