Hull & East Yorkshire Medical Research Centre (Daisy Appeal) opened in 2008. The charity built the Jack Brignall PET-CT Scanning Centre in 2014. In 2024 we built a Molecular Imaging Research Centre to produce PET CT tracers. We are fundraising for a £3m digital scanner to help save more lives.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Shane died from a fatal heart attack on the 13th April just twelve days after being diagnosed with a large malignant tumour. The waiting time for the CT scan to further establish the diagnosis was 17 days. During this time the unbelievable stress experienced by Shane resulted in this sudden tragedy. If only his appointment could have been sooner.

The Daisy Appeal is helping to fund the next phase of an ambitious project to raise £3m to further develop PET-CT facilities at Castle Hill Hospital. Providing first class diagnosis of Cancer, Heart Disease and Dementia and ultimately minimising waiting times for life saving scans.
