Charity Challenge:10 day trek to Machu Picchu · 14 October 2011

The Simon Community in London brings rough sleepers and volunteers to live and work together as a supportive community. For over 60 years the Simon Community has worked to alleviate the isolation of rough sleepers. Please note that the Irish and Scottish communities are separate organisations.

Story

Hello!

For the first time I'm taking on a fundraising challenge for the Simon Community, London's only independent homeless charity.

This amazing organisation provides grassroots help for homeless people across the capital and the UK. Among many other things, they provide regular tea and soup runs, a house for long term homeless, winter shelters, and give love and support for so many who have very little.

I will trekking for up to 15 hours a day, for 10 days in the Peruvian Andes to reach the ancient Machu Picchu site. It's assigned the 'tough' status by Charity Challenge, and will involve camping and probably a few blisters!

I'd be grateful for any donations how ever big or small.

MANY THANK YOUS!
