Hi All, on Sunday April 23rd I will be running in my 3rd marathon in London, England. I am running for a cause that is close to my heart; "Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group." I am running in honor of my cousin Jesse who had Leukemia as a young man. Leukemia is a type of cancer that targets blood-forming tissues including the body's bone marrow and also affects the lymphatic system. This cancer makes it challenging to fight off infections due to the active growth in abnormal blood cells. Jesse, was fortunate enough to beat Leukemia after a tough, courageous battle. However, the long-term affects of medications, chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, and other forms of treatment carry weight on the body regardless of the age. The fight against Leukemia and other types of cancer is a difficult and challenging road for the patient and their loved ones. Children's Cancer and Leukaemia Group are dedicated to provide assistance and support for these patients to obtain exceptional care and treatment. CCLG also serves as an outlet for patient educational resources and research cures.
