100 Miles in March for RSVP Birmingham · 31 March 2021

Story

I love to run, but maybe not 100 miles in one month kind of love.

BUT here goes running 100 miles for the Rape and Sexual Violence Project Birmingham & Solihull, because no one - I'll repeat, no one - deserves or should ever face sexual violence.

The RSVP offer confidential and compassionate support to children and adults of all genders across the Birmingham and Solihull area who have been subjected to sexual violence and abuse in their lives. Sexual violence can have psychological, emotional and physical effects on a survivor. But, the RSVP offers a range of free services with tools that help enable survivors to begin to understand and overcome the effects of sexual violence and build more hopeful futures.

These services include; Adult, Child and LGBT Advocacy support through ISVA's (Independent Sexual Violence Advocates) who provide advice and practical support from accessing health services, crisis support & reporting to the police; counselling services; helplines; social groups; legal clinics; specialist services for asylum seekers & refugees; specialist services for sex workers; art projects and many more. They truly are incredible

Did you know that £36 can pay for one counselling session for a survivor? A safe space for someone to listen, believe and support them. Every penny really will make the world of difference.

NO ONE should ever have to experience sexual violence. And as a quick message to survivors, I believe you, I am here for you, I stand for you always, and will literally run 100 miles for you! It was never your fault.

SO, please donate, share as widely as possible, or if you're feeling brave join part of my 100 miles as I will need ALL the support I can get to do this (as I also juggle the demands of doing a PhD in a global pandemic - because why stop there).

Thank you!

You can also contact the RSVP via Telephone: 0121 643 0301 and  Email: info@rsvporg.co.uk or through their online webchat if you need support.
