07.07 - UPDATE
We have had the positive news that my grampy's tumour has shrunk and is continuing to shrink! Awareness and donations are making real changes to people's lives xx
Hello I'm Shannon,
After a recent competition that included a lot of running I decided I needed to improve for next time. The same day, I came across an advert to run 3K a day in May for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
My Gramps has been having radiotherapy treatment for lung cancer, it's now a waiting game to see if it's worked and what his next steps are. Seeing the advert for this challenge felt like a sign that I couldn't ignore. It isn't the first time our family have been affected by lung cancer, with my Grandad passing from it many years ago.
So everyday, I will be running 3K to help fund raise for research, treatment and support services for those battling lung cancer.
Although 3K a day may not seem like a lot to some, this is a huge challenge for me.
If you would like to help me in reaching my fund raising target any donation will make a difference and bring hope to patients and their families.
I am excited for this challenge and hope you can support me whether that be through a donation or moral support on a run! xx
