Story
Hi everyone,
StreetDoctors is a charity very close to my heart. I joined the East London team a couple of years ago because I realised the impact knife violence (and violence in general) was having on young people, their families, friends, communities and wider society during my exposure to emergency and prehospital medicine. When I first started, I was shocked by the number of young people, as young as 12, who had witnessed (or experienced) knife violence.
Our charity is a community, made up of medical volunteers who dedicate their time to delivering high quality interactive sessions to young people. We believe in a public health approach to violence, and through our simple, relevant and engaging sessions we aim to empower young people to make a positive change and save a life.

As most of you will know, this is the first time I have challenged my self to any sort of running competition (the furthest I have ever run is 5K..).
However, with your support and motivation, I hope I will be able to achieve a decent time and smash my fundraising target!
