Most kidney patients cannot eat chocolate, and for a child this must be such a punishment, each year we ask people if they would like to take part in Choctober, where we give up chocolate for the month of October.

Story

I am giving up chocolate for the whole of October now for some that might not seem much , but believe me this is harder than and Great North Run of Gelt Gladiator.

I am doing this because sadly my brother got told he has Kidney failure in July this year, currently he isn’t well and all I and my family can do is hope he stabilises and gets his regular dialysis and maybe one day a transplant.

He has not only got Stage 5 to deal with he has to live on such a restricted diet , and only drink a small amount of fluids a day .

Chocolate is a big no for him and if this is something I can give up just to help and make awareness of kidney disease and kidney failure I will do it .

The NKF supports the 3 million people of all ages with kidney disease, most kidney patients cannot eat chocolate, and for a child this must be such a punishment, each year we ask people if they would like to take part in Choctober, where we give up chocolate for the month of October. Not only this is a great opportunity to raise some vital funds to support kidney patients, but it highlights just one of the many things kidney patients have to sacrifice in their life with this appalling disease. Please support the NKF so they can continue to support kidney patients and their families.
