Lochness Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022

We train and use mountain rescue search dogs to search for and rescue missing persons, predominantly in a mountainous environment, but also in other areas where our skills may be of benefit. All Lake District mountain rescue search dog handlers are also members of a mountain rescue team.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page

These amazing Dogs and their handlers selflessly give their time to developing, training and the deploying of Search Dogs within the Lake District Mountains and Fells to search for missing people. The dogs are trained to search the fells, woods, rivers and anywhere people may need assistance. It takes hundreds of hours and around Two years of training to become a fully graded Search Dog. Totally dependent on donations from the wonderful public. Many people in Britain know little of the work of SARDA, and may never have heard of search dogs. Yet winter and summer, search dogs and their handlers work in wild areas of Britain, searching for lost or injured people, working as part of Search and Rescue Groups.
