Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am keen to raise both money and awareness for the victims of the 'Forgotten' war in Yemen.
Yemen is the world’s worst humanitarian crisis to date – 18.8 million people urgently need humanitarian assistance. The cholera outbreak is probably the worst the world has ever seen with 1,052,417 cases and 2,253 deaths (as of 18/2/18)
But where is the 'emergency response' we have seen from the UK and other countries in previous and much smaller humanitarian emergencies? Yemen is rarely mentioned in the media within the UK despite the fact the WHO declared their current situation as the world's worst humanitarian crisis? Why?
These BBC documentaries highlight just a tiny part of the ongoing problems in Yemen, truly devastating.

One of the world's poorest countries, bordered by the richest has endured nearly three years of war between Houthi rebels and Saudi-backed forces.
Conflict has devastated the nation leaving thousands of innocent civilians dead and three-quarters of Yemenis without access to safe water, food, healthcare or sanitation.
A situation of deadly airstrikes, destroyed infrastructure and a desperate lack of food and water has been worsened by flooding and landslides since July, with many people losing their homes.
Despite a very difficult operating environment, Tearfund's partners in Yemen are working to reach those suffering from the conflict. They have distributed food and hygiene kits to reduce the risk of deadly disease and prevent its spread, and are planning to help bring medicines and water.
Tearfund has launched an immediate response and is also part of the national DEC appeal, an initiative that brings together 13 leading UK charities in times of crisis.
Unless there is some major disaster (either I burst a lung or fracture a hip), I plan to do five separate cycle challenges between May and September, 1250km in total.
