We provide special needs education to support excluded kids with disabilities

Story

There are 1.2 million disabled children in Vietnam. Disability is significantly correlated with poverty in Vietnam. The effects of Agent Orange in the US war against Vietnam are very much still there today. Vietnam is a beautiful country and I wish to help those children at the Kianh Foundation with the help of my dear friends, I wish to create awareness of this foundation founded by Jackie Wrafer from the UK,  who has spent more than a decade helping disabled children in Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province.I will be visiting Vietnam during the festive season and during this time I will spend some time at the Foundation to meet the passionate team that make such a difference to the lives of these children. There are currently 99 children at the centre, the centre provides free daily physical and occupational therapy as well as a modified mainstream Vietnamese curriculum for the children. The parents are offered community support and social care so that their children can stay and live with them in their own home environment. Without generous donations from those who wish to help these children such foundations would struggle to exist. The Kianh foundation is a purpose built day centre supporting families so that they don't get to the stage where they struggle to care for their disabled child/children and find themselves in a situation where they feel that they have no choice but to abandon their child in an institution.

No child should live in an institution.

Helping others to make a difference is key to me.

I love children and the well being and development of all children means so much to me. I am lucky to have two beautiful daughters and my youngest daughter Louanne will also be coming to Vietnam with me. During our adventure I look forward to teaching her about acts of kindness and how important it is to help others in need. The children range from all ages, some of the children that we will be spending time with at the foundation are the same age as my daughter who is 7 yrs old. We look forward to spending time with these amazing children at the foundation.

Thank you for all of your support. No mince pies for us, or the traditional Christmas dinner at home and the 'Home Alone' movie. No Christmas cards or even sprouts this year. It is going to be a Christmas where we can make a difference, and we would like to ask for your help dear friends. We have already started the first steps of fundraising, such as gathering unneeded things in the house to sell, and Louanne has been baking away to sell buns at school!! Whatever we can raise will make a huge difference!

Vietnam, here we come for a jolly festive season, simply giving with your help for such a great cause. The foundation has a website and Facebook page where you can follow their progress see link below.

Any donation, great or small will mean the world to this us, this charity and most importantly the children at the Kianh Foundation.

Thank you so very much  ✨👈🏻
