Greater Manchester Marathon 2014 · 6 April 2014 ·

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Hi

I am taking part in the Manchester Marathon despite injury as a means to not wasting this opportunity, to fight through any pain and raise money for such a worthwhile cause.

When I was 20 I sadly lost my best friend to cancer - Hodgkinsons Disease. Sadly this was diagnosed too late due to GPs not recognising and taking on board the symptoms of my friend ongoing. I strongly believe there is a greater need for improvement for early detection of cancer amongst teenagers, improved education and awareness for doctors/GPs and better facilities for teenagers being treated for cancer in hospitals.

However small a donation it will be invalid to the cause.
