Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those that don't know, I have a long history of mental health challenges, spanning back to my teens. It's not something I've ever been ashamed of or tried to hide from the world, but it does mean that I know how important support for mental health issues and how valuable the work Mind does really is.
Over the last few years I have found that getting out and walking regularly has been hugely beneficial to my mental health - indeed now I walk daily and love getting out in all weathers. In a moment of 'madness', this year I decided to really challenge myself, and have signed up to walk 50km (c31 miles) in one go, on Sept 23rd, in the Chiltern 50 Ultra Challenge. This is far further than I've ever walked before, and I readily admit that I'm not a big fan of long walks, let alone really hilly ones! This walk (and all the training needed in preparation) is going to be a real challenge for me, that I'm facing with equal amounts of excitement and trepidation.
Any amount you can spare to spur me on in this event would be very gratefully received. I opted for the fundraising option for the event because knowing that people have sponsored me will keep me motivated to complete it - can't let you lovely lot down! So thank you in advance for whatever you can give. I'll be thinking of you while I trek the hills!
