Story
In 2019, the school field was invaded by mining bees and the children have been unable to use the area for over a year. Experts advised that the only solution to dealing with the bees was to dig up the site and work has just finished to replace the field with an all weather sports pitch. This will be hugely beneficial for the health and wellbeing of the children, providing a large outdoor area which can be used all year round for playtimes, lunchtimes and outdoor PE lessons.
This is an expensive project. We do have some funding from the local authority but urgently need to raise £10,000. This campaign aims to raise £4,000 over the summer which puts us on the right path towards our ultimate goal. Our fundraising plans, made earlier this year, have been scuppered by the Coronavirus situation. If you are able to donate this would be greatly appreciated by current and future pupils of Twyning school.
